Belper Walks is an ever expanding collection of walking routes of up to 5 miles in and around Belper and its surrounding villages.
As well as the traditional maps and descriptions, routes are also filmed to show you where to start, where to turn and what the terrain and gates and stiles are like so you shouldn’t get lost or stuck. Where possible they go past local pubs, ideal if you need some refreshment.
Belper Walks encourages people to explore more of the beautiful walks around Belper with no risk of getting lost and without having to read a map. Each route has a start point, plain English directions to follow, and for many routes a video to help you check the terrain and create a visual memory before you go.
The walks are divided into areas so you can fine tune your search for where you want to go and, with it being a community led project, you can suggest your own walk and have it added to the site for the benefit of others.
Videos can be seen on the Belper Walks Facebook page with printable maps, descriptions and GPX files which you can import into your walking app available on the Belper Walks website.
There's lots more videos on the Belper Walks website but you can see a sample of what to expect in the video below.
